Should I stop overdelivering quality no one notices?

There is real pride in doing something to a high standard, and I would not talk you out of caring about your craft. But notice what you are describing: precision the situation never asked for, costing you time, going unseen and unvalued. Some of that polish is love of the work. Some of it may be a hard time telling when good enough is genuinely enough. Not every task deserves your best. That sounds almost wrong to say, but your time and energy are finite, and pouring them into details no one needs means less left for the work that would actually be noticed and matter. Knowing where to spend your excellence is its own skill, and it is one you have not fully learned yet. Try sorting your work into what deserves your full craft and what only needs to be solid and done. On the next task in the second pile, deliberately stop at good enough and move on. Save the deep polish for where it lands. You are not lowering your standards. You are aiming them.
