Should I tell my employer about my disability?

This question eats at you because it is genuinely hard and because you are carrying it alone, turning it over without a way to set it down. There is no universally right answer. Disclosure can bring support and relief, and it can bring judgment you cannot predict. Feeling torn is not indecision. It is an honest read of a real risk. Try separating the question into parts. You do not have to tell everyone, or no one. You can tell one trusted person before a whole workplace. You can disclose to get a specific need met and stay private otherwise. The choice is not all-or-nothing, and seeing that often loosens the knot. So instead of solving the whole thing, ask a smaller question: is there one thing I need right now that telling someone would make possible? If yes, that points to a specific person and a specific amount. If no, you are allowed to wait. The decision does not have to be final. It only has to be right for now.
