What do I do when a problem isn't in the playbook?

Following the script is where nearly everyone starts, so do not be hard on yourself when a problem steps outside it. The playbook covers the common cases. Real work is full of the ones no one wrote down yet. Getting stuck there is normal, not a sign you lack ability. When a problem is not in the playbook, the skill is breaking it into smaller questions. What changed. What still works. What one thing you can test next. You do not need the whole answer at once. You need the next small step, then the one after that. Next time you are stuck off-script, write down what you know and what you do not. Seeing it laid out turns a wall of panic into a list you can actually work through.
