Where does AI's judgment end and a product manager's begin?
You use AI in discovery and specs now, and it helps, but you are unsure where its judgment ends and yours begins. That blurred line is worth taking seriously, because a product built by drifting into the tool's defaults is nobody's product. Here is a cleaner way to hold it. The AI is good at generating options, summarizing research, and drafting the obvious. It is not good at deciding what to build or why, because that takes knowing your users, your strategy, and the thing you are quietly betting on. When the work is exploring possibilities, lean on it. When the work is choosing, that is yours. So name the line on purpose. Before your next feature, decide which calls you will own no matter how good the AI's suggestion looks: the what and the why. Let it help with the how and the how-many. When you choose the boundary deliberately, the product stays yours instead of the tool's.
