Who am I after retiring from sports so young?
For as long as you can remember, you have been the athlete. It is how the world knew you and how you knew yourself. Walking away from that while you are still young leaves a strange, empty space. Of course you do not know who you are yet. You never had to ask. That blank page feels like loss, but it is also something most people never get: a second beginning, with plenty of life ahead. The qualities that made you an athlete, drive, focus, the willingness to start at the bottom and work up, do not disappear. They are just looking for a new place to go. Be patient with the search. You do not have to name your whole future this month. Try things. Some will fit, most will not, and that is the process, not failure. One step: pick one thing you were always curious about but never had time for, and go do a small version of it this week. That is how the next you gets built, a little at a time.
