Why can't I close deals that are almost done?
Getting a deal to the edge and stalling there is a particular kind of ache, because the work is done and something small holds it back. Often that something is you, hesitating at the ask. Somewhere you decided that requesting the decision might break the spell. It will not. Closing is not a trick performed at the end. It is the natural request after you have earned the right to make it. If the value is there, asking for the commitment is a service, not an imposition. The buyer often wants permission to decide as much as you want the yes. Next time you reach the edge, ask plainly: are you ready to move forward, and if not, what is in the way. Then stop talking. The silence after a direct ask is uncomfortable, and it is exactly where deals close.
