Why can't I take action on finding a new job?
You want a new job and yet you cannot seem to move toward one. The wanting is real, and so is the stuckness, and being caught between them is its own kind of tiring. This is not laziness. It is usually fear and overwhelm wearing the disguise of not getting around to it. The search feels huge because you are looking at the whole mountain at once, the perfect role, the applications, the risk of rejection, the change. No wonder you freeze. The mind cannot take a step toward something that big. It can only take a step toward something small. Shrink it until it is almost too easy. Not find a new job, but spend twenty minutes updating one part of your resume today. Then one small thing tomorrow. Motion breaks paralysis better than motivation does. You do not have to feel ready. You just have to take the next small step, and then the one after that.
