Why do my demos lose the room?

A feature dump loses the room because people do not buy features. They buy relief from something that is bothering them. When you list everything your product does, you make the buyer do the work of figuring out which part is for them, and most will not. The room leans in when it hears its own problem described. So the demo is not about showing all you have; it is about showing the one or two things that touch what this buyer actually struggles with. Everything else, however impressive, is noise that buries the signal. Before your next demo, cut it down hard. Find the single problem this buyer cares about most and build the demo around solving that, on screen, in front of them. Leave the rest out. A short demo aimed at real pain beats a complete tour every time.
