You can find facts. That part you have. What swamps you is the next step: taking a mountain of information and turning it into something solid and defensible. That is a different skill, and no one is born knowing it. Feeling lost here does not mean you are not smart enough. It means you are standing at the edge of harder work.\nThe overwhelm comes from trying to hold the whole thing in your head at once. You cannot. Nobody can. Rigorous work gets done in pieces, one question at a time, each answered before you move on. The mountain shrinks when you stop staring at all of it.\nSo pick one question. The smallest, clearest one you can find inside the mess. Answer just that, well, and write down what you found. Then pick the next. The overwhelm is not a sign to stop. It is a sign to narrow your focus.
