Why does my lighting skill not matter next to phone photos?

You can shape light like a painter, and you watch a phone snapshot get the same praise, sometimes more. That grief is real. You spent years learning to do by hand and eye what a machine now approximates in a fraction of a second, and the crowd often cannot tell the difference. It stings to master something the world seems to have stopped valuing.\nBut the world confusing two things does not make them the same. A phone guesses at pleasing light. You decide it.
