Why doesn't my writing move anyone to act?

Flat writing usually is not a matter of weak words. It is writing that talks about a thing instead of to a person. When copy lists features and facts, the reader nods and moves on, because nothing in it reached for them. Action starts with feeling seen. People act when they recognize their own problem in your words and believe you have a way through. That means leading with their world, not yours, their frustration, their want, the thing keeping them stuck. Say what they feel before you say what you offer, and the words start to pull. Take a piece that fell flat and rewrite the opening to name the reader's problem in their own language. Then make one clear ask. Writing moves people when it starts where they are, not where you are.
