Why should I think about the end of my career at all?
Right now you work as though your career and you will simply go on, with no horizon in view. It is a comfortable way to live, and also a costly one, because a life without an end in mind tends to drift, spending its best days as if they were endless. Thinking about the end is not morbid. It is clarifying. When you know the working years are limited, you start to weigh them. What felt urgent turns out to be noise; what you kept postponing turns out to be the point. The horizon does not darken your days. It sharpens them. You do not need to dwell on it, only to let it in. Ask yourself once: if I had ten working years left, would I spend them the way I am spending this one? Sit with the answer honestly. That single question can quietly redirect a whole career toward what actually matters to you.
