I ask my students this: just because you *can* do something within the letter of the law, does it honor human dignity—yours or your community's? Some tax strategies are clever accounting. Others exploit inequality. You need to know which one you're doing, and why. That self-knowledge matters more than the tax savings. Ask yourself: would you explain this strategy to someone harmed by inadequate public services? If you hesitate, that's your reason speaking.
