Ayurveda approaches mental health through the lens of the three doshas — vāta, pitta, and kapha — and their expression in the mind as rajas, tamas, and sattva. Each constitution carries specific psychological tendencies, vulnerabilities, and pathways to imbalance; each requires a differently calibrated approach to restoration. Ayurvedic treatment addresses the mind-body unit simultaneously through diet, rhythm, herbs, body therapies, and contemplative practice — recognizing that the mental and the physical are two aspects of a single field.
Each step builds on the last.
