About This Journey

Internal Family Systems (IFS), developed by Richard Schwartz, maps the mind as a multiplicity of sub-personalities — exiles carrying pain, managers controlling behavior, firefighters responding to distress — organized around a core Self that is inherently healthy. The Sutras would recognize this as a refined map of the vṛttis and saṃskāras operating as distinct clusters of energy and identity. The goal of parts work is not the elimination of any part but the unburdening of the exiles and the freeing of the Self to lead.
