Luminous Reason and Intellectual Mysticism

Sor Juana's tradition synthesized Scholastic logic, mystical theology, and scientific curiosity into what might be called intellectual mysticism: reason itself became a spiritual practice, and rational inquiry a path to divine truth. She believed that studying mathematics, astronomy, and philosophy were acts of worship, ways of approaching the divine mind. This integration challenges the false binary between reason and spirituality that has dominated Western thought.
