Ecstatic Expression Beyond Words

Mirabai danced, sang, and moved her body to express love that language couldn't contain, showing communication transcends verbal speech.

Why It Matters

Mirabai's most famous communications with Krishna weren't articulate arguments or carefully composed letters; they were ecstatic dances, spontaneous songs, and embodied movements that burst the boundaries of conventional language. In Communication in love, this concept expands what we mean by communication itself. Words are only one channel. In intimate relationships, true communication also happens through presence, touch, shared silence, tears, laughter, and the unspoken language of attention. Mirabai teaches that some dimensions of love cannot be said; they can only be expressed through the body and through shared being. Many of us are trapped in the verbal realm, trying to think and talk our way to understanding. But communication in love includes the non-verbal: how we show up, whether we're present, the quality of our gaze, the warmth of our touch. This concept invites us to recognize that our most authentic communications might be expressed through movement, creativity, or simple presence rather than articulate speech. When words fail, Mirabai's example shows, trust the body's wisdom, the heart's expression, the soul's language.
