Freedom as Communication

Mirabai's ultimate act of communication was her freedom: she left, she chose her own path, she refused to be contained. This radical model suggests that authentic communication in love includes the willingness to be free and to grant freedom. Partners who can express disagreement, divergent needs, separate identities, and individual growth without fear of abandonment communicate in a mature register. Freedom-as-communication means saying 'I am becoming someone new' or 'I need something different than you do' without apology. It means trusting that love can hold difference. Mirabai never apologized for her devotion even as it separated her from family bonds. In relationships, this translates to honest expression of evolution, desire, and individuation.
