Love Beyond Outcome

Mirabai loved Krishna with no guarantee of return, no promise of union in her lifetime. Her bhakti was not transactional; it was not love-in-order-to-receive. We can plant forests we won't see mature. We can build systems we trust others to steward. We can love future beings we'll never meet. This love beyond outcome liberates us from despair-as-paralysis. If we only act when guaranteed success, anticipatory grief becomes paralyzing. But if we follow Mirabai's model—love what is true and beautiful regardless of return—we can move with both realism and commitment.
