The Testimony of Your Body

A somatic practice of listening to how your body carries the memory and grief of your former identity without words or analysis.

Why It Matters

Your body holds the memory of who you were before in ways your mind cannot articulate. The Testimony of Your Body is an embodied practice of attending to the physical sensations, contractions, and releases connected to your lost identity. Mirabai danced; through movement, her body witnessed her transformation and released what her mind could not process. Where in your body do you feel the ghost of your former self? What tightness, heaviness, or absence marks the places where old identity structures held your being in place? This practice invites you to move, breathe, and feel your way through grief rather than thinking your way through it. Your body knows what you were before your mind learned to narrate it. By listening somatically—through touch, breath, movement, and sensation—you access a deeper layer of grief that intellectual understanding alone cannot reach. This testimony is not meant to be fixed or resolved but witnessed and honored. Your body's grief is the most authentic communication about what that old identity meant to you.
