Samadhi in Political Unity: Integrated Consciousness

Samadhi, Patanjali's ultimate state of integrated and unified consciousness, illuminates the psychological possibility of genuine political unity beyond surface agreement or coercive conformity. In political psychology, societies often oscillate between fragmentation (tribes locked in mutual incomprehension) and totalitarianism (unity imposed through force). Patanjali's samadhi suggests a third possibility: a state of consciousness where diverse individuals experience genuine interconnection while maintaining authentic particularity.
