Emotional regulation frameworks

Emotional regulation refers to the full range of strategies by which citta maintains or modifies the intensity and duration of emotional states. No single framework captures the whole: DBT, ACT, somatic approaches, and contemplative traditions each illuminate different aspects of the same capacity. What they share is the recognition that regulation is learned — it is not an innate fixed capacity but a trainable set of skills.
