Environmental legacy — what we leave the planet

Environmental legacy is the most literal form of inheritance — the planet we leave is the one the next generation actually inhabits, without amendment or negotiation. The seventh-generation thinking of many indigenous traditions understood this with a clarity that modern economic frameworks have not matched: decisions made now have consequences in bodies not yet born. This is perhaps the most consequential form of legacy available to the present moment.
