Islamic and Arab contributions to science and technology — historical

The scientific tradition that the European Renaissance inherited passed largely through the hands of Arab and Islamic scholars — in algebra, optics, astronomy, medicine, and philosophy. To tell the history of technology without this is to tell a story with several of its chapters removed. The recovery of this history is not a correction of sentiment but of fact.
