Tiger parenting produces some remarkable outcomes by conventional measures — and some complicated ones that conventional measures do not capture. It carries a particular form of love: fierce, sacrificial, oriented entirely toward the child's future. The question it cannot always answer is whether the child inside those outcomes got to be a child — and whether the parent got to be loved back.
