Faith is not agreement with a proposition — it is the motion of the whole self toward what it cannot yet hold. Every tradition has named this movement differently: trust, surrender, devotion, confidence, belonging. What they share is not doctrine but direction — a turning of the inner life toward something that exceeds it.
