How do I get seen when my whole team works remote?

You say you can work from anywhere now, and that part is true. But being seen — that has gotten harder, not easier. This is not a technology problem. It is not about better cameras or more meetings. In an office, people learned who you were by accident — a comment in the hallway, a glance at your screen, a joke at lunch. That accident is gone. Nothing replaces it unless you choose to replace it. You did not lose your value. You lost the accidental proof of it. That proof must now be something you produce, on purpose, with the people around you.

The reader already understands remote work; what's missing is practiced habits done with others, so guidance carries most of the weight.

What’s really going on

Presence was never automatic — even in an office, it took work you just didn't see. Now the work is visible, and it falls to you. Speak up. Show your thinking. Name your progress out loud, on a schedule. No one owes you attention. You build it, on purpose, every week.

A moveAsk a teammate directly: 'What do you actually see of my work?' Listen without defending yourself.
A movePick one fixed moment each week — same day, same place — and name what you did and learned.
A moveChoose one person in your pod to check in with about how things are going, not just tasks.
A moveVolunteer to lead one visible piece of work this month. Do not wait to be asked.

  • Your team can describe what you're working on without asking you first.
  • You stop feeling like you're shouting into an empty room.
  • Your manager or pod has real material to notice, not guesses.
  • You build a habit of visibility that survives any change in team or tools.
