How do I stay steady against a tough prosecutor?

You know the law. You built the case. What breaks is not knowledge — it is your composure the moment she interrupts, twists your words, or raises her voice. Notice what actually happens. Your mind leaves the question in front of you and runs ahead to how you will look, whether you will stumble, what the jury will think. That is the rattling. Not her. You do not fix this alone in your head the night before trial. You fix it by practicing the ambush with people who will actually interrupt you, over and over, until interruption is just weather.

What’s really going on

The prosecutor cannot rattle you. Only your own mind can do that, by running ahead to fear and away from the question in front of you. You cannot control her tactics. You can control your breath, your pace, and your next sentence. Train the next sentence, not the whole case.

A moveBefore you answer, take one breath and name silently what question was actually asked — not what you fear was asked.
A moveDrill cross-examination out loud with your pod. Reading your notes alone will not prepare you for being interrupted.
A moveWhen you feel rattled, deliberately slow your pace. Do not match her speed — that is her rhythm, not yours.
A moveAfter every practice round, have your pod name the exact moment you flinched. Vague feedback is useless; find the specific trigger.
A moveAssign one pod member to interrupt you mid-argument, sharply and often, until it stops surprising your body.

What changes unlock by starting

  • You keep your thread when interrupted, instead of losing the sentence.
  • Your pace stays even regardless of her tone or speed.
  • Your pod can name your specific triggers and drill them directly.
  • You walk into the real courtroom having already survived this ambush in practice.
One object, two jobs: a public answer to a real problem, and — the moment you start the chat — Aurelius’s live plan for your version of it.
