I can move people—why do the blockers still block me?

You've moved the willing. You've won over the reasonable ones. And still, the stubborn and the powerful sit unmoved, and it stings more than it should. Here is the trap: you've quietly made your success depend on their nod. That was never yours to give yourself. Their resistance belongs to them — their fears, their history, their reasons you may never see. You cannot argue a person into a feeling they've chosen to protect. So ask what is actually yours. It is the next clear ask, the next ally you bring into the room, the next proof you build where you already have room to move. Do that work. Let their yielding come or not come — it was never the measure of whether you acted well.

The person already understands the situation clearly; what changes their outcome is specific action and a sharper reframe, not new facts.

What’s really going on

Their agreement was never yours to command. You confuse influence with control. Your task is the clear proposal, the ally at your side, the next honest attempt — not their yes. Stop scoring yourself by what they refuse to give you.

🔒 What you’ll build togetherUnlock by starting
A moveName the one senior blocker specifically. Write down exactly what they'd need to see change, not what you wish they'd feel.
A moveStop pouring energy into the loudest resister. Count who you've already moved, and build visibly there instead.
A moveNever meet the blocker alone. Bring one ally who already agrees with you into every conversation.
A moveSet a real date to raise it again — after you have visible proof from the people who did move.
A moveAsk your team this directly: what would we build if we stopped waiting for this person's approval?

What changes unlock by starting

  • You stop burning energy trying to convince someone who isn't ready to be convinced today
  • Your team has a visible base of support, not just one person's isolated persuading
  • Your proposals get sharper, because you start writing them for the skeptic, not the friendly
  • You measure your progress by your own action, not by someone else's compliance
