Why am I the only one pushing this change through?

You move things. People noticed, so now they wait for you to move the next thing, and the next. Each time you carry it alone, you teach them that they don't have to. The exhaustion you feel is not about the size of the work. It is about being the only one holding it while others stand back and watch. That is not sustainable, and it was never meant to be — no single person is built to be an entire organization's shock absorber. This is not a change problem. It is a weight distribution problem, and distribution is something you have power over. You cannot make others want to carry weight. But you can stop being the only place weight is allowed to land.

The core failure is a pattern of behavior — over-carrying — so the reader needs mostly coaching to interrupt it, with a small amount of naming/framing to see the pattern clearly.

What’s really going on

You are not tired of change. You are tired of carrying it alone while everyone else waits for you to finish. That is not a flaw in your character — it is a structure, and you built it, so you can unbuild it. Choose where the weight sits next.

A moveName one task you are doing right now that belongs to someone else's role. Hand it back this week, plainly, without apology.
A moveBefore you start the next change, write down who else should own part of it. If no name comes, that is the real problem to raise.
A moveIn your next meeting, wait. Do not volunteer first. Count to three. Let the silence sit on someone else.
A moveTell the person above you, in plain words, what it costs you to be the only one who moves things. Do not soften it into a joke.
A moveChoose one thing to let go undone. Let others feel the weight of its absence. That is how they learn it was ever there.

What changes unlock by starting

  • You do less work that was never yours to carry.
  • You see clearly who else is capable of carrying weight, once you stop absorbing all of it yourself.
  • Fewer requests reach you by default, because you are no longer the automatic answer.
  • You have energy left for the one or two changes that truly require you.
One object, two jobs: a public answer to a real problem, and — the moment you start the chat — Aurelius’s live plan for your version of it.
