Why do I ignore the AI in my work, or let it run unchecked?

Here is the actual situation. Something now moves your meetings, drafts your replies, edits your documents. You did not sit down and decide what it should do. You just notice it, sometimes after it has already acted. You tell yourself you're too busy to check every time. Look at that honestly. You are not too busy — you are avoiding the smaller, harder task of deciding what this thing is allowed to do without you. That decision takes ten minutes. The avoiding has already cost you more. The stakes are small until they aren't. A meeting moved wrong. A reply sent in your name. A line changed in a document you signed. None of it is dramatic. All of it is yours, whether you looked or not.

The person already knows roughly what's happening; what they lack is a decision procedure and the discipline to use it, so this leans heavily toward action over explanation.

What’s really going on

Neither ignoring it nor trusting it blindly is a decision — it's the absence of one. Choose a posture: review every action before it happens, or hand it a narrow task you have tested and verified works. Indifference is not safety. It is just risk you haven't looked at yet.

A movePick one tool you use daily. Decide today: you either review every action it takes, or you let it run free. No third option — that's the ignoring.
A moveName three things it will never do without your eyes on it first — sending money, writing to your boss, deleting anything. Write them down.
A moveSet a five-minute daily check. Look at what it did yesterday. Not what it might do today — what it already did.
A moveBefore you send anything it drafted, read it aloud. If you won't do that, you don't trust it. Admit that, then decide what to do about it.
A moveFind one feature you have never actually looked at. If you can't say what it does, turn it off. It does not get a vote in your work.
