Why do the big fixes still defeat me?

You can design most remediations now. Say that plainly, without false modesty. The skill is real. But the large ones still beat you, and you know it, and it bothers you more than the small failures ever did. Here is what is actually happening. With the small problems, you see the whole shape at once and move. With the large ones, you try to do the same thing — hold the entire design in your mind before you act — and the scale will not allow it. No one's mind holds a large remediation whole. That is not a flaw in you. It is a fact about size. You are not working alone. You have a team. Use it as more than an audience for a finished plan. Bring them the unfinished one. Let them carry pieces you cannot carry by yourself. The large problem does not need a bigger brain. It needs to be cut down and shared before it is solved, not after.

The block is habit and nerve, not missing technique, so most of the work is coaching action, not teaching method.

What’s really going on

The large ones do not defeat your skill. They defeat your habit of holding the whole plan in your head before you act. Stop designing the complete solution alone. Name one piece your team can start this week. Act on it together. The rest reveals itself through work, not more planning.

A moveName the smallest piece of the large remediation your team could start this week. Say it out loud.
A moveBring the half-formed plan to the group before it feels ready. Ask them to find the hole you cannot see alone.
A moveAssign one owner per piece, not one designer for the whole thing.
A movePick a date to act on the first piece, even if it is incomplete. Hold the date.
A moveAfter you act, review what you learned before you design the next piece. Do not re-plan the whole project from the start.

What changes unlock by starting

  • You stop waiting for a finished design before you move.
  • Your team carries pieces you were trying to carry alone.
  • The large remediation becomes a sequence of smaller ones you already know you can do.
  • You learn where the plan was wrong by acting, not by sitting with it longer.
One object, two jobs: a public answer to a real problem, and — the moment you start the chat — Aurelius’s live plan for your version of it.
