Why won't sales actually use what I build?
You built something good. It works, you tested it, you're proud of it. Then it sits there, untouched, while people keep doing things the old way. You call this a sales problem — they're stubborn, they don't get it, they don't want to change. Look at this honestly. You shipped a tool and walked away, and called that finished. But building the thing was the easy half. Making it the obvious, easier choice in someone's actual day — that half you skipped. You cannot make another person adopt anything. That was never within your power and chasing it will only make you bitter. What is within your power: removing the old way so there is no second option, sitting with one person until the new habit sticks, and fixing the exact step where people quit using it. Do that instead of building more features nobody asked for.
Adoption is not their failure to understand you — it is your failure to finish the job. You control what you build and how you launch it, not whether people like change. Stop asking why they resist and start removing the friction and the old habit yourself. That is the work still undone.
What changes unlock by starting
- You will know within a week whether your tool fits their day, because you watched instead of guessed.
- You will stop blaming the sales team and name the one specific point where people drop off.
- You will have a repeatable way to launch things, not just a repeatable way to build them.
- Adoption becomes something you engineer on purpose, not something you hope for after the fact.
