You keep researching instead of doing
You've watched the videos, read the threads, bought the book, compared the options in a spreadsheet. You know more about starting than most people who've already started. But you haven't actually done the thing — and somehow the more you learn, the further away the doing feels, not closer.
Research feels like progress because it's productive-looking and completely safe — you can't fail at reading one more article. Doing is where failure becomes possible, so the reading quietly becomes the hiding place. At some point more information stops preparing you and starts protecting you from starting. The tell is when you're learning things you'll never use, or re-learning what you already know. Let's mark the line where you have enough, and cross it — badly if we must, but actually.
What changes unlock by starting
- You can tell real prep from research-as-hiding
- You set a "good enough to start" line and cross it
- You learn by doing the small version
- You name the risk instead of researching around it
