Money and children — raising financially literate kids

Children form their relationship with money through observation of how the adults around them treat it — the anxiety, the avoidance, the arbitrary rules about what can and cannot be discussed. Financial literacy in children begins not with allowances and saving jars but with honest, proportionate conversations that name money for what it is: a resource that requires management, not a topic too dangerous or too dull to examine.
