How to repair trust after dismissing valid concerns

My direct report came to me six months ago with concerns about a project timeline being unrealistic, and I pushed back because I thought they were being pessimistic, and now the project is failing exactly how they predicted it would. They haven't said 'I told you so' but I can feel the dynamic between us has changed and I don't know how to rebuild their trust without admitting I was wrong in a way that undermines my authority.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A power imbalance prevented someone from hearing important information, and now both parties are trapped in the aftermath of that failure.
