When creative teams struggle to evolve their processes as they scale

Our design team has been working with the same creative process for three years and I can see that it's not scaling with the company but every time I suggest changes in our retrospectives people get defensive about the way we've always done things. There's this underlying tension between preserving what made us successful in the early days and adapting to what we need now.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The team's attachment to past success is preventing adaptation to current needs, but no one wants to be responsible for changing what worked before.
