Our design team has this brilliant creative director who everyone loves but also everyone's afraid to give real feedback to, including me. We all edit ourselves around her and then complain privately about creative decisions, and I can see it's making our work worse and probably making her feel isolated too.
More people experience this than they realize.
Everyone's too in awe of the boss to be honest with her, and the work is suffering for it.
