When self-organizing teams develop informal hierarchies

We're a team of twelve and our manager left six months ago and instead of hiring someone new they just told us to 'self-organize' but really what happened is that two people have taken over everything and the rest of us just do whatever they say and call it consensus and I think we're all pretending this is working better than it is.
