When I can explain the past but not see the future

I can build the budget and break down what already happened, line by line. But when they ask me where the business should go next, what to bet on, I freeze. Today the director wanted a three-year outlook and my mind stayed stuck on last quarter's actuals. I can analyze the past just fine. Seeing forward and calling the strategy still trips me.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

You can analyze the past but the forward-looking, strategic work still trips you.
