I did the job right out in the field, but back at the desk the blank report form stares at me. I write a few lines, second-guess what matters, and leave out the detail that turns out to be the one they ask about later. When it comes back with questions, I feel like the work didn't count because I couldn't put it on paper.
More people experience this than they realize.
You can do the work, but writing a report that holds up confuses you and you leave things out.
