When my design checks every box but might still feel dead

I have got the plaza laid out, the benches placed, the trees spaced just right on paper. But I keep looking at it and cannot tell if people will actually want to be there or just cut through and leave. I can make a space that checks every box and still feels dead, and I cannot yet see the difference before it is built.
