Management wants us pushing the room upgrades and the breakfast add-ons at check-in. There is a family in front of me who would probably love the bigger suite, and I just hand them the standard key instead. Every time I open my mouth to offer something more, it feels like I am picking their pocket, so I do not.
More people experience this than they realize.
Offering upgrades feels pushy, so you just never do it.
