When patients take their fear out on you all day

People come into my chair already scared or hurting, and a lot of them take it out on me. I have to stay gentle and calm while they're short with me or flinching at everything. Nobody in school warned me how much of this job is managing other people's fear. The emotional side of the chair wears on me more than the work itself.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Absorbing anxious, hurting patients' fear all day is a hidden weight no one warned you about.
