I want the data to say what I already believe, and I can feel that wish leaning on me as I work. Being honest means checking myself constantly, resisting the urge to see the pattern I'm hoping for. Holding to what's really there, instead of what I want to be there, takes more discipline than anyone tells you.
More people experience this than they realize.
Staying honest means resisting the steady pull of your own hopes and hunches.
If this sounds familiar, the Library can help you find the bigger picture.
