I can open a dataset and feel the shape of it the way you'd read a landscape. But lately I catch myself finding exactly the pattern I hoped to find, almost too easily. I slice it one way and get one story, slice it another and get the opposite. It unsettles me how much the numbers seem to say whatever I already wanted them to.
