When the industry changes and you wonder if anyone reads

I've spent a lifetime building a body of work I believe in. But the whole industry has shifted under my feet — how people read, what gets noticed, who decides — and I stand here wondering if the words I've given my life to still reach a single living person. It's a strange grief, to still be here while the thing you did might already be over.
