I command the vessel and everyone on it, and out here there's no one above me for a thousand miles in any direction. Every call is mine, and if something goes wrong there's no one to turn to and no one to blame but me. People think command is freedom, but carrying all of it with no one to share the weight is its own kind of heavy.
