When you admit your ego runs more than you thought

I fought hard in a meeting today and told myself it was about the work. Driving home I let myself see it plainly, that I mostly wanted to win, to be seen as the smart one. My ego runs more of my day than I'd ever say out loud, and I'm only just admitting it to myself.
