When you avoid giving feedback so none comes back to you

I've noticed I hold back honest feedback from people, and part of it is a quiet deal I've made without saying it out loud: if I never tell you the hard thing, maybe you'll never tell me mine. It feels safe. But it means the honesty has drained out of the whole relationship, in both directions, and nobody's actually growing.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

You withhold feedback to keep from receiving any, and honesty disappears both ways.

If this sounds familiar, the Library can help you find the bigger picture.
